Okay yes, hi, hello, here I am. I’m here! And I watched the live-action Robin Hood…. about three weeks ago. So yes, I’m behind. But it’s December, and it’s COVID-times, and WORK and maybe a little procrastination too? Let’s not waste any more time.
This 1952 fairy tale of sorts is the second full length live-action film for Disney. Look out Treasure Island, this one’s taking the number one position on my “Very Unofficial Ranking” list!

Robin Hood usurped the number one spot simply because I found it to be more enjoyable! Let’s take a quick walk through, shall we?

The Merrie Men: righteous and laughable all at once. Like the lost boys with a cause.

The minstrel’s songs: Perfect little punctuation marks throughout the film from a guy with a cute little jig.
The cheese: It’s cheesy in the best way. Take for example the scene where we meet Friar Tuck. The little song he sings where he’s both the man and woman parts followed by the back-and-forth rides he and Robin Hood take on each other’s backs through the stream are totally silly and fun.

Robin Hood: is pleasantly hunky. A win for the moms. I mean…
